Disabled Aircraft Caused Brief Closure at St. Thomas Airport
The runway at Cyril E. King Airport was temporarily closed after a private Piper Aztec experienced a flat tire while landing during touch-and-go training maneuvers. Two people were on board the aircraft and were not injured, but the plane remained on the runway until it was removed at approximately 1:45 p.m. The Virgin Islands Port Authority reopened the runway at 1:57 p.m. after completing safety inspections.

Containerport Temporarily Closed Following Gas Tank Incident
Operations at the Containerport in Krause Lagoon, St. Croix are suspended pending the inspection of a gas tank that fell at the port. Entry to the port is not allowed until further notice.


Gallows Bay Port Reopens, Normal Operations Resume
Virgin Islands Port Authority, the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Services, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Antilles Gas confirmed that the facility is now safe for normal operations.
