Traffic tickets can be paid before the court date at the Office of the Cashier located at the Superior Court. Paying a traffic ticket prior to appearing in court, you are admitting that the violation occurred. Therefore, there will no longer be a need for a hearing before a Judge.

You may get the court date information from the face of the ticket or you may contact the Traffic Division at the Superior Court in the judicial district in which the traffic violation occurred.

If you fail to pay a traffic ticket, pursuant to Super. Ct. R. 153, the Court may issue a warrant for the arrest of any defendant who has failed to appear or answer a traffic ticket or summons duly served upon him and against who a complaint has been filed. Additionally, the traffic lien imposed pursuant to 20 V.I. Code Ann. § 497 shall be executed.

For more information about traffic or parking tickets issued in the U.S. Virgin Islands - including a list of the fines - visit the VI Superior Court's Web site.
Booted Vehicles
Vehicles left at airport lots in excess of 30 days or parked illegally on port property may be impounded at a designated VIPA impound lot. You must obtain a release before you can pick up your vehicle. (Your vehicle might have been stored temporarily before moving it to a towing company lot.)

Owners/drivers of the vehicle are responsible to pay whatever towing and/or booting fees were assessed to the respective vehicle as a result of being impounded. If VIPA contracted a towing company to move your vehicle, the towing company may collect both a tow fee and daily storage fee. Fees assessed by the tow company are not negotiable with the VI Port Authority and cannot be waived by any official of the Authority.
Fees are accepted in cash, visa or master card, certified checks or money orders only at any VIPA cashier office. Impounds related to an arrest may require a district attorney's release.

Documents required for release:
-
Your receipt indicating your fines have been paid (if applicable)
-
Valid driver's license
-
Valid insurance
-
Proper ownership and registration papers
-
Agents for owner must provide the documents listed above in addition to a notarized "Letter of Authorization" that permits the agent to claim the vehicle for the owner.

BOOT REMOVAL FEE:
$125.00
