• Traffic tickets can be paid before the court date at the Office of the Cashier located at the Superior Court.  By paying a traffic ticket before appearing in court, you are admitting that the violation occurred. Therefore, there will no longer be a need for a hearing before a Judge.

• ​You may get the court date information from the face of the ticket or you may contact the Traffic Division at the Superior Court in the judicial district in which the traffic violation occurred.

• ​If you fail to pay a traffic ticket, according to Super. Ct. R. 153, the Court may issue a warrant for the arrest of any defendant who has failed to appear or answer a traffic ticket or summons duly served upon him and against whom a complaint has been filed. Additionally, the traffic lien imposed according to 20 V.I. Code Ann. § 497 shall be executed.

Booted and Towed Vehicles

• Vehicles left in airport lots for more than 30 days, or parked illegally on any port property, may be impounded at a designated VIPA impound lot. You must obtain a release before you can retrieve your vehicle. It's possible that your vehicle was temporarily stored before being moved to the impound lot. If the impound is related to an arrest, a release from the district attorney may be required.

• Vehicles parked illegally will have boots applied and may be towed to a storage area. Owners or drivers are responsible for paying any towing and/or booting fees associated with an impounded vehicle. Contracted tow companies may charge both a towing fee and a daily storage fee, which are non-negotiable and cannot be waived by any official of the Authority.

How to Pay the Boot Removal Fee
​​VIPA's  Boot Removal Fee is $125.00.

The boot removal fee is payable by cash, Visa, MasterCard, certified checks, or money orders at any VIPA cashier office.  Call VIPA’s Police Precinct to present your receipt and have your boot removed:

Documents required for impounded vehicle release:

• Your receipt indicating all fines have been paid (if applicable)

• Valid driver's license

• Valid insurance

• Proper ownership and registration papers

• Agents for the owner must provide the documents listed above in addition to a notarized "Letter of Authorization" that permits the agent to claim the vehicle for the owner.​
