On February 17th, the Virgin Islands Port Authority will host the Frederiksted Waterfront Master Planning Community Meetings at the HERA Terminal Conference Room in St. Croix. The public is invited to help shape the future of the Frederiksted Waterfront!

Both the Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas (STT) and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport in St. Croix (STX) are open, and normal operations have resumed. Flights between STT and STX begin at 7 am today.

Airports in the US Virgin Islands are open, but FAA travel restrictions have canceled flights from U.S.-based air carriers. and aircrafts. Travelers are urged to contact airlines directly for flight updates.

The former Cancryn School property, which FEMA condemned after the 2017 hurricanes, is scheduled for demolition. Work commenced this week with the initial clearing of the property, and secured fencing with controlled access is being installed. Building clearance and remediation activities are planned to begin on January 16, 2026, followed by structural demolition starting on February 7, 2026.
