The terminal was named in honor of the late Charles F. Blair via Act No. 7172 by the 28th VI Legislature.
Charles Francis Blair Jr.
Charles Francis Blair Jr. (July 19, 1909 – September 2, 1978) was an American aviation pioneer. He played a key role in developing the routes and navigation techniques needed for long-distance flights. Blair served as a reserve officer for the United States Navy and later for the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of captain and brigadier general, respectively. He tragically passed away in a transportation accident in the Caribbean while piloting a Grumman Goose seaplane for his airline, Antilles Air Boats.
