[St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands] — The Wilfred “Bomba” Allick Port and Transshipment Center (“the Containerport”), located in Krause Lagoon, St. Croix, reopened at 12:45 p.m. today. The port was temporarily closed at 10:30 a.m. due to an incident involving a fallen gas tank on the dock. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and there was no gas spill. Inspections conducted by the Virgin Islands Port Authority, the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Services, the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, and the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that the facility is safe for normal operations.
