The Virgin Islands Port Authority’s maintenance team on St. Croix has completed the repairs to the damaged baggage belt at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport Terminal. The parts, which had to be manufactured and shipped from Utah, were received last week. Upon receipt of additional parts yesterday, repairs were completed and the belt is now fully functional and operating. VIPA thanks the traveling public for their patience during the wait for the repairs.
VIPA’s Board has authorized the complete replacement of the aging baggage handling system at HERA. Airport officials are developing specifications for the new system.
