VIPA to Host P3 Airports Industry Forum

The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) continues to move forward with its plans to pursue a public/private partnership (P3) arrangement with a private airport investor, operator, and terminal developer to modernize and upgrade the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix and the Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas. VIPA issued a Request for Qualifications on December 29, 2022, seeking airport operators, developers, and infrastructure investors for the project. Airport P3 participants were invited to an industry forum where USVI and VIPA officials will provide information about the territory and both airports. VIPA expects more than 35 firms and over 90 people representing airport operators, terminal developers, investment banks, architects, contractors, and consultants to attend the forum.

The industry forum will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 1, 2023, in the Standard Aviation hangar at the Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas. Media is invited to attend the presentation. Governor Albert Bryan Jr. and VIPA Executive Director Dowe will also conduct a press briefing to answer questions from the media immediately following the presentation. VIPA officials will conduct a tour of the King Airport’s facilities following the presentation. The touring segment of the forum is open to registered developers and investors only. The group of developers will tour the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix at 10 a.m. on February 2, 2023.

For more information about the forum, contact VIPA’s Public Information Officer Monifa Brathwaite at (340) 774-1629 or via email at MBrathwaite@viport.com.
