VIPA Temporarily Relocates Parking for CEKA Limousine and External Taxi Drivers

The Virgin Islands Port Authority’s Territorial Airport Manager Jerome Sheridan announces the temporary closure of the Cyril E King Airport’s parking area assigned to limousine drivers and all taxi drivers who are not members of the airport’s taxi franchise (V.I. Taxi Association).  The lot will close for 30 days starting Monday, December 11.

Sheridan said that the independent livery drivers including all limo and non-franchise taxi drivers shall be allowed to temporarily stage their vehicles in Parking Lot B at the King Airport, which is located just North of Ashley’s Restaurant and the V.I. Taxi Association staging area. Access to this area is on a first-come, first-serve basis. This temporary staging area may be used for 20-minute interval periods only. Long-term or overnight parking is not permitted. Parking rules and restrictions regarding the use of the temporary staging area in CEKA Lot B will be strictly enforced.

This relocation is temporary as VIPA completes construction of the entrance of the new Parking and Transportation Center (Phase 1) that is tentatively scheduled to open for public parking in February 2024. Please contact the King Airport’s Parking Management Office at (340) 714-6607 with any questions or concerns. All emergencies in this area should be reported to VIPA Police at (340) 714-6667.
