VIPA Administrative Building, St. Thomas – Operations Update

The Virgin Islands Port Authority wishes to notify the public about the following changes in its administrative operations on St. Thomas.


Administrative Building: Repairs to VIPA’s Administrative Building are significantly completed. The office building is located adjacent to the Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas. The office will remain closed to the public through April 30, 2020, as employees telework and shelter at home in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The following departments that were temporarily operating in Crown Bay Center will relocate to the Administrative Building when the office reopens on May 1, 2020:


• Accounting

• Administration and Finance

• Chief of Staff

• Deputy Executive Director’s Office

• Executive Director’s Office

• Engineering

• Information Technology (IT)

• Legal

• Public Relations

• Purchasing

• Human Resources


The Property Management department is permanently stationed at Crown Bay Center.


Administrative Building Cashier Hours: The cashier has relocated from Crown Bay Center and has returned to the VIPA Administrative Building. The cashier’s temporary hours beginning April 6 through April 30 will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The office will be closed on Monday, April 13 for the Easter holiday.
