St. John-St. Thomas Ferry Service Temporarily Suspended Tonight

The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) has been notified that passenger ferry service between Cruz Bay, St. John and Red Hook, St. Thomas will be suspended tonight due to inclement weather expected as Hurricane Tammy passes the U.S. Virgin Islands. The last passenger ferry from Cruz Bay to Red Hook departs at 7 p.m. The last ferry from Red Hook to Cruz Bay leaves at 7:30 p.m.


All seaports in the USVI (St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix) will be closed by the U.S. Coast Guard at 8:00 p.m. tonight, October 21, 2023. Seaports will remain closed until the Coast Guard completes its assessments tomorrow.


The Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix will remain open. Travelers are encouraged to contact their airlines directly for flight information.
