FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 4, 2026

The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) announces that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has lifted the flight restrictions issued yesterday. Both the Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas (STT) and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport in St. Croix (STX) are open, and normal operations have resumed.

Fly the Whale and Cape Air will begin flights between St. Croix and St. Thomas, USVI, starting at 7:00 a.m. today. Commercial airlines serving routes between airports in the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands will also operate today.  Travelers are strongly encouraged to contact their airline to confirm flight schedules before heading to the airports, as schedules may have changed.

All seaports in the territory are also open and operating normally.
