The Virgin Islands Port Authority advises all travelers, tenants, and users of the Cyril E. King Airport Terminal that its contractor will be conducting boring tests in the airport terminal.

What Are Borings?
Boring involves the drilling of holes into the ground to determine the subsurface material components.
Why Is This Project Being Done?
This testing is being done as part of the ongoing VIPA Airports Public/Private Partnership project to improve and modernize the Cyril E. King Airport Terminal.
How Will This Project Affect Travel?
VIPA does not expect this project to affect travelers or normal airport operations.
The work will be done at night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily while the terminal is closed.
Some seating areas and mobile vendors in the terminal may be temporarily relocated during the project and equipment will be neatly stored in the area during the day while the project is ongoing.
While VIPA does not anticipate any disruptions to airport operations, VIPA apologizes in advance if there is any inconvenience caused by the project which is an important part of the terminal upgrade construction process.
