The Virgin Islands Port Authority invites the public to a meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2023, to discuss the start of construction and improvements to the Loredon L. Boynes Sr. Dock in Cruz Bay, St. John. The meeting will be held in the Cleone H. Creque Legislative Conference Room at the VI Legislature Annex in Cruz Bay, St. John. VIPA Executive Director Carlton Dowe and Director of Engineering Preston Beyer will present information about the upcoming improvements to the facility scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2023. The improvements include resurfacing the pier; installing a canopy adjacent to the existing terminal; adding a male and female restroom and adding an electrical room for an emergency power generator. The Legislature of the Virgin Islands appropriated most of the funding for this project, estimated to cost $1.5 million.
